The article written by Leslie Marmon Silko over the U.S. Border Patrol explained the types of incidents that certain people go through just because of who they are or how they look. The people who go through these types of incidents at the Border Patrol inspection point are either judged by their race or if they look “suspect” of smuggling illegal citizens or drugs. Some of the Border Patrol officers that make these inspection checks do not all obey the law of a U.S. citizen’s right.

February 15th, 2009It is uncommon not to see a bar when you go through a congested area like a big city or a town in the United States because, people here have always liked to entertain themselves with alcohol and bars are places where you can do exactly that. Owning some bars when I grow up is what I would like to do and is what I wish I could do when I graduate with my degree from college.

February 10th, 2009I think if I could instantly know everything that I needed to in order to be successful in what I would want to do for a career, I would choose to own those bars that I mentioned earlier. I am really interested in this occupation and always have been. That kind of career would be exciting to me and I think the idea would have the potential to grow and be successful in the end and pretty easily too.

S. has a lot of people who drink alcohol and who enjoy going to bars for a source of entertainment, so I thought of starting up some bars in an area with more population like a big city. Bars have always been able to bring money in if ran the right way, and if I am successful in obtaining a masters degree in business management I should be very capable of running those bars.

After thinking of what type of business would bring in a good yearly salary in, what I came up with was starting up some bars. Nothing Scary
January 25th, 2009Another thing that is scary about the college experience is if I am ready to be able to handle the amount of homework that my classes will be assigning to me. In high school I didn’t have a lot of homework so now being in college the homework is probably going to be an every night activity for me which also ties into the changing of my personal lifestyle. Something else that I fear is that I will flunk out of college but hopefully I will be able to adjust to this experience and be successful.
Being Good
January 20th, 2009Although there are many reasons why I am excited to experience college, there are also some things that frighten me. One thing that scares me about the college experience is that I am a freshmen this year and I am new to everything. It’s scary being a freshmen in college because you don’t know what to expect of your classes the first month or so or how it will affect your personal life style.
Grade Point Average
January 15th, 2009I will be able to see if I can survive this experience and be successful in obtaining the GPA that is required of me to achieve. Even though the partying is also what excites me, I am still here to further in my education. I am excited because I no longer live with my parents and I am now on my own. I’m excited because I can do whatever I want whenever I want without having to ask anyone’s permission.

January 12th, 2009I want to take advantage to further in my education so that I have the chance to be successful in the future. Now, in today’s society its really competitive in finding a career so you need to have an impressive resume to present to whomever your applying to and a college degree helps that out a lot. What excites me about the whole college experience is that I am now independent and get to find out what I can do as an adult.
